Various parts of popular electronic devices may contain dangerous heavy metals, including lead, silver, barium, cadmium, chromium and mercury. The city of Richmond, in collaboration with the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA), typically holds e-recycling collection events twice a year. Please stay tuned for information on future city of Richmond sponsored events or visit the CVWMA website for more information.

Richmond residents as well as those from other localities in the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority region are welcome to bring their unwanted electronics. There is no charge for most items, such as CPUs, printers, keyboards, speakers, wires, cables, telephones and stereos. The fee for recycling televisions is $7.

Please visit CVWMA's Electronics Recycling page for more information.
