| Abstract: Contains features and relationships providing the core elements of the Richmond transportation data model. This model adopts some of the UNETRANS structure, where address ranges and street names are normalized in separate tables. Street centerlines are provided in both a single line and dual line representation. Road features represent the center of the right-of-way, while Carriageway features are either coincident with Roads along undivided streets or they represent the center of a road bed if the street is divided. This dataset does not yet contain a routable network, nor does it provide support for multimodal feature identification as suggested by the UNETRANS model. However, the topology of both Road and Carriageway features is suitable for building a reliable network. These features also provide percentage (0-100) measures which may be used for linear referencing. | |||
| Purpose: To be used for geocoding, linear referencing, network analysis, Cityworks Asset Management System, Computer-Aided Dispatch System, and cartographic display of street centerlines. | |||
| Supplemental Information: Centerlines street naming and addressing adheres to the City of Richmond's Central Address Standards. Feature level metadata is provided in the EditBy and EditDate fields. Every feature in the GIS layer tracks who edited it, and when it was last edited.
