Description
  Abstract: Represents Fire Districts.
Purpose: To define/describe the extent and boundaries of Fire Districts for use in GIS mapping and analysis. In an emergency, the Fire District represents the geographical area where a fire company is generally expected to be the first arriving unit. These areas also provide geographical boundaries for the fire companies when performing other tasks including hydrant maintenance, smoke detector installations, etc. This GIS layer is used to relate properties (hence addresses) to the correlating Fire Districts for use in the City's data warehousing and central address systems.
