| Abstract: This layer describes the location of areas that are being nominated to, or are eligible for the National Register of Historic (National Historic Designation), and the Virginia Landmarks Register (State designation). These areas are not currently listed on the Register and are therefore not eligible for federal tax incentives. Information regarding these areas can be obtained from the City of Richmond Bureau of Housing and Neighborhood Preservation. | |||
| Purpose: To define/describe the extent and boundaries of the Potential Historic Areas for use in GIS mapping and geospatial analysis. This feature class helps the Department of Community Development to track areas that might be nomination pending status, or determined eligible areas, or potentially eligible areas. | |||
