| Abstract: Represents common places as polygon features in and around the City of Richmond. | |||
| Purpose: Enables modeling of common named places as geographic areas, like Parks. Areas of Interest are designed both for cartographic display of common places and they are related to GIS address points, originating from Central Address, which enables the City to associate addresses to common names used in the Landmarks GIS model. | |||
| Supplemental Information: Area of Interest features generally emphasize the social or economic role of a landmark. Area of Interest features are typically copied from parcels and do not overlap. Landmarks uses a standard land use classification scheme and other hybrid approaches based upon the Americal Planning Association standards: http://myapa.planning.org/lbcs/ | |||
