Neighbor-to-Neighbor will consist of individuals of all ages, races, ethnicities, genders, and faith persuasions who reside in the great City of Richmond, where history and the present merge in transformative ways.
Message from the Mayor
Through the meaningful integration of volunteers, the Neighbor-to-Neighbor initiative will provide
extraordinary civic engagement, and the city of Richmond will be strengthened through
cultivated relationships in each of our neighborhoods. This innovative initiative is designed to
inspire each of us to develop a closer relationship with our neighbor, especially the children,
youth, elderly and residents with disabilities of our community.
Goal
Mayor Dwight C. Jones’ vision is to “Build a Better Richmond” by creating a Tier One City that offers a safe,
supportive and culturally diverse environment – with world-class education, high-performance government operating
with fiscal responsibility, access to health care, thriving economic development, and inclusive and unique neighborhoods.
Key to fulfilling the City of Richmond’s mission has been the creation of Neighbor-To-Neighbor (N2N),
the service department of the City of Richmond focused on increasing collaborative-based civic engagement and
volunteerism throughout the City of Richmond - built around Mayor Jones’ anti-poverty initiative
and driven by the seven components of the City’s Balanced Scorecard:
• Unique and Inclusive Neighborhoods
• Community Safety and Well-Being
• Education and Workforce Development
• Economic Growth
• Transportation Infrastructure
• Well-Managed Government
• Sustainability & The Natural Environment
