One of the immediate goals for implementation of the Pulse Corridor Plan is to rezone the six priority station areas in the Plan: Cleveland Street, Science Museum, Allison Street, Arts District, Main Street Station, and Orleans. The City has begun the city-initiated rezoning process based on the guidance provided in the Pulse Corridor Plan, including a series of public open houses.

Monroe Ward Rezoning

The Department of Planning & Development Review hosted a first public open house on July 10, 2017. A second open house, including a detailed presentation of the proposal, will occur on July 17, 2017 from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at the Main Library Branch, 101 East Franklin Street.

The Department of Planning & Development Review will host two Open Houses in July 2017 about rezoning Lower Monroe Ward, as well as remapping street oriented commercial streets and priority streets throughout Monroe Ward. Both meetings will be held at the Main Library Branch, 101 East Franklin Street.

        Monday, July 10, 2017: 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.

        Kick-off public meeting for City-initiated rezoning process.

    Open House #2

        Monday, July 17, 2017: 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.

        Proposed rezoning based on feedback from the first open house.

Scott’s Addition Rezoning

The Planning Commission passed a resolution of intent to amend the zoning ordinance and the zoning map to rezone Scott’s Addition at their June 19, 2017 meeting. You can find the materials related to the Resolution of Intent here for the text amendments and here for the re-mapping.

The next step is for an ordinance to be introduced and go through the Council adoption process.
