This week Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s assistance with information that may assist in the investigation of a hit and run that occurred in the City of Richmond on August 1 where a pedestrian was struck.

Around 2 o’clock in the afternoon, the victim was attempting to cross the street in the 1700 block of East Broad Street when he was struck by the suspect’s vehicle. The driver got out of the vehicle to briefly check on the victim. The driver then returned to the car and left the scene without providing information to the victim or waiting for the police or medical assistance. The victim was transported to the hospital and released with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators believe that there may be witnesses to this incident that have information crucial to the investigation.
