Circumstances


Detective George Taylor was shot and killed after stopping a vehicle near the intersection of Davis and Kensington. The suspect was a convicted murderer on parole and was convicted of capital murder for Detective Taylor's murder and sentenced to death. He committed suicide in prison in 1988.

Detective Taylor had served with the agency for 13 years and was survived by his wife and two teenage daughters. He was killed the day before his 39th birthday.
