Fire Explorers

The Richmond Fire Explorer Post was established in 1996 to enhance the relationship between firefighters and young adults living in the Richmond area.

The post, which is chartered through the Boy Scouts of America, is a career awareness program designed to educate young adults who may want to pursue a career in firefighting and/or emergency services. The young adults are educated through lectures, training, hands on activities, ride-a-longs and group meetings.

  • Participants must be between 14 and 21 years of age
  • Richmond Fire Explorer meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month during the school year
  • Post meetings are held at Fire Station 10
  • Meetings start promptly at 6:00 p.m. and run until 8:00 p.m.
  • There is a $10.00 annual fee to join the Richmond Fire Explorer Post
