Smoke Alarms
The majority of fatal home fires happen at night when people are asleep. Smoke
alarms provide you and your family with the early warning needed to escape a fire
in your home. At a minimum, each residential property should have a working smoke
alarm on each level of the house. The Richmond Department of Fire and Emergency
Services want to assist you by providing free smoke alarms, batteries and installation.
Fire fighters will come to your home upon request by calling (804)646-1526.
