Our Goal

The goal is to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Richmond and surrounding counties through creative, affordable programming.

Our Challenge

We accomplish this goal by creating and administering art education and activities throughout Richmond.

Our Vision

Through the City of Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, the vision is to combine the efforts of city government with the creativity of the arts community in Richmond. Together these

forces create a wonderful mix of public and private interests. The office offers an array of programs ranging from many forms of movement, visual art, music, theater, festivals and outreach. In addition to these major program areas, the OCAP serves as an advisor to the arts and cultural communities within the Richmond region to foster a better understanding of the communities needs and seek collaborative partnerships within the public and private sectors.
