Civilian of the Month

James has gone beyond his regular job duties in his efforts to raise the bar regarding the Department’s use of multimedia platforms.

He started with creating personal and detailed videos of the Officer and Sergeant of the Month that give you a snapshot of the great work they do. Didn’t matter if the officer worked midnight shift or is notoriously shy, James will find a way to tell a great story. Those videos are now a standard monthly item.

And it’s not like James had a lot of time to do this work. He was often tasked with creating these videos within just a day or two and on top of his regular workload. Despite this, he always took the time to explain and show his colleagues what he was doing so they could learn.

He upped his game in January not only by creating these videos, but by working with Computer Services to create the ability to record and broadcast the Fourth Quarter Awards ceremony live via the Internet.

Live streaming an award ceremony has never been done before, but mostly likely will be done at all future award ceremonies so those who cannot attend can still be there in spirit to support their colleagues.

It is for these actions that James is awarded the “A Step Above” Award for the month. Good job!
