Civilian of the Month

On December 5, 2009 Karla Peters volunteered to assist with the preparation and launch of the first “StopThePain804” Christmas parade float. Karla Peters offered up the Choir equipment to be used on the float. Karla with assistance set up and tested the equipment for a variety of unpredictable scenarios based on the weather forecast.

On the morning of the parade Karla assisted Major Venuti with the set up of all of the choir equipment so that the float would have audio. Karla volunteered to do this after dropping her mom off early at the beauty parlor. The set up was not easy in the pouring rain, and you guessed correct, it did not work. Karla worked to trouble shoot the problems as time ticked down. Karla also took photographs of the float and “StopThePain804” procession in the pouring rain.
