Our Civilians of the Month for June – Peggy Smith and Terri Gaines
When Peggy Smith and Terri Gaines of Central Records’ Data Operations signed on as Department volunteers for Meals on Wheels, they knew their goal was to get meals to seniors across the city.
The plan was for the Department to provide transportation for the Meals on Wheels deliveries.
But for Peggy and Terri’s first delivery on June 7, the Department didn’t have any wheels for Meals on Wheels. This dynamic duo was not deterred.
They used their personal vehicle to drive to Meals on Wheels headquarters, pick up the meals, make each home delivery, return to Meals on Wheels to drop off supplies and then returned to work.
High gas prices didn’t stop Peggy and Terri from going the extra mile.
Thanks, Peggy and Terri, for representing Richmond Police in an exemplary manner and going above and beyond in serving our seniors in the community. Great job!
