Civilian of the Month

Our Civilian of the Month for November – Delores Anderson

Delores Anderson often steps outside her job as a crime analyst to help Richmond Police with other community projects.

She did it again by going above and beyond the call of duty to assist the Community Partnership for Domestic Violence Awareness in October.

When Delores was told that the group was looking to take its annual forum out into the community and needed a place to host the event, she was able to provide a meeting facility at no cost for the Domestic Violence Forum held on Oct. 8. The forum was held at Cedar Street Baptist Church, Delores’ place of worship.

Delores also was able to arrange a meal for those participating, organized special music from a soloist and the church’s Praise Choir and a welcome from the church’s pastor, all at no cost to the Department.

Not to mention, Delores even facilitated the forum, which took place after normal work hours. She also was there for setup and cleanup for the event.

Delores continues to be a shining light and example for the Department and the community she serves — on and off the job.

Delores definitely knows how to and goes “A Step Above!”
