Civilian of the Month

Our Civilian of the Month for November II – Aletha Brunson

In addition to her role with Richmond Police as an administrative project analyst with the Planning and Accreditation Division, Aletha Brunson is actively involved in the welfare of Richmond's abandoned and sheltered animals.

For several years, Aletha has collected recycled newspapers and shredded paper for Richmond's Animal Care and Control Shelter on Chamberlayne Avenue. The paper is used to line the cages of the many animals who must make the shelter their home.

As you know, winter is a critical time for the welfare and care of animals, especially those that have been neglected or don't have a permanent home.

Aletha also shows her compassion by continuing to provide materials for the animals throughout the year.

Then it’s back to work, where Aletha is responsible for the compilation of information and photos and the successful completion of the Department’s annual report.

Keep up the great work, Aletha!
