Communications Officer of the Month

I am pleased to present and congratulate our Communications Officer of the Month for April – Roger Johnson.

Roger went above and beyond the call of duty during the month of April. Last month he completed more than 11 hours of recordings for court cases and FOIA requests. These recordings are from the 9-1-1 calls have proven essential to court cases. Roger produced 19 CDs and printouts in reference to these requests.

In addition, Roger answered 261 calls for service, with an average ring time of 4 seconds, entering those calls with a 48 second average, well below the recommended 60 seconds for D-E-C.

Last month, we also celebrated Communications Officers’ Week. Roger was a major contributor to the success of this annual recognition and morale booster for D-E-C personnel. The week was filled with games, raffles and, best of all, food. And Roger had role in making each of these activities memorable. The planning committee wanted to make the games and raffles fun. They thought it would be great if D-E-C had its own “Wheel of Fortune.” So what did Roger do? He took the time to construct a D-E-C “Wheel of Fortune.” The annual cookout always is enjoyed by D-E-C staff as well as friends and family. The primary enjoyment is the food. Roger not only prepared food for the cookout, but he shopped for the cookout items, set up tents, tables and chairs and cleaned up from all the fun.

Roger always contributes in any way he can to the success of D-E-C and we are pleased to recognize him as April’s Communications Officer of the Month. Congratulations, Roger!
