Communications Officer of the Month

I am pleased to present to you and congratulate our Communications Officer of the Month for May – Kiondria Johnson.

As Yogi Berra would say, “It’s like déjà vu all over again.” Kiondria was standing here just a few months ago as Communications Officer of the Month for January 2011. And it appears that Kiondria is doing the same great work, which brings her back here today.

In April, Kiondria became a four-year veteran at D-E-C. Her work in May shows that she still has the same zeal of a newcomer but with the plus of her years of experience.

What brings Kiondria here today is her effective handling of several high priority calls last month. These calls included a mayday, a traffic pursuit, an emergency request for assistance and a homicide.

Her efforts in handling all of these calls included commendations from others in the Department, including Deputy Chief Vincent and detectives of the Major Crimes Division.

Kiondria also did a great job as a Communications Training Officer, assisting in preparing new CO’s for their work at our 9-1-1 Center in an exemplary manner.

In addition, she managed to maintain an average ring time of four seconds last month.

Keep up the great work, Kiondria. We’ll just have to keep bringing you back for these presentations. Congratulations as our Communications Officer of the Month for May!
