The November Communications Officer of the Month Award goes to a very hard worker at DEC and Delivia Byrd.
CO Byrd is a tremendous asset to the division. Without exception, she is always willing to assist coworkers as well as supervisors in any way possible. And she always maintains a very pleasant demeanor.
Her abilities and experience were tested to the limits during the month of November when she handled five high-impact incidents on four successive shifts.
She maintained calm and control and provided assistance when officers got involved in several foot pursuits with different subjects.
CO Byrd's telephone statistics for November show that she is diligent when assigned to the phones, as her average ring rate is Point 4 seconds! Wow. That's fast!
CO Byrd is also an exceptional teletype operator.
CO Byrd is trustworthy, reliable and well thought of by her coworkers. She routinely assists supervision with inquiries from the media and others, and has proven herself to be vital to floor operations.
She is unfailingly courteous to both internal and external customers. It's for all these reasons that CO Byrd is the Department's Communications Officer of the Month for November. Congratulations!
