Sergeant of the Month

Congratulations to our Sergeant of the month: First Precinct’s Jayson Walter!

This gentlemen right here is no stranger to us. Sgt. Jayson Walter has displayed a tremendous amount of courage, integrity, perseverance, and other characteristics that showcase what a leader should be.

He really showed his strength last month in the aftermath of a triple shooting that left two adults injured and a young boy fighting for his life. It also left the neighborhood in a state of shock and worry, but Sergeant Walter stepped up and motivated his troops to take the lead in the Department’s response.

In a place where there were scared citizens, busy officers and detectives working together to solve the case, and reporters everywhere looking to tell the story, this sergeant was able to keep everything under control. He instructed his officers about how to calm the citizens, and he also was able to keep them focused on the tasks at hand; all under the watchful eyes of the media.

Sure enough, he got the job done. Well done, Sergeant Walter! Thank you and congratulations!
